FAQ
Questions owners ask
Straight answers before you book anything.
How is this different from hiring an accountant?
I've been on the other side of that wall. I spent 11 years in corporate and public accounting, so I know what that work really looks like from the inside. Your bookkeeper and accountant get the past right: clean books, accurate returns, everything compliant. That work matters, and nobody loves a clean set of books more than I do.
My work starts where theirs ends. Think of them as the mechanics who keep the car running. I'm the GPS. We decide where you want to go, then every month we pick the moves that get you there, like raising prices, making the next hire or stepping back from the day-to-day.
I don't do bookkeeping or taxes, so there's no busy season pulling me away. This is all I do, and I work alongside your accountant, not instead of them.
Is my business large enough for fractional CFO support?
Most owners I work with run B2B service businesses with 10 to 50 employees and at least two years in business. If you're making decisions about hiring, pricing or cash without someone to think them through with, size matters less than you'd expect. The right-fit call is where we find out.
Do my books need to be clean before we can start?
No. They need to be clean enough to trust, and we get there together. If they need cleanup, I'll help you find the right person, and the cleanup runs alongside our work.
What happens after the right-fit call?
If we're both in, you get a short proposal: what we'll work on first, how often we meet, the flat monthly fee and the terms. Once it fits, we kick off with Discovery, where we set your targets together. If it's not a fit, I'll tell you, and point you to someone who is when I can.
How much does fractional CFO support cost, and what determines the fee?
It's a flat monthly fee. What moves it: how often we meet (monthly, twice a month or weekly), how complex the business is, and how much forecasting and reporting you need. The proposal spells out the fee, what's included and the terms before you commit to anything.
How do I get started?
Book a 30-minute right-fit call. We'll learn about your business, where you want to take it and what's in the way. If it's a fit, you'll get a proposal built around your business, and we can kick off within days, not months.
