About

Hi, I'm Anthony.

I'm a CFO advisor for owners of B2B service businesses.

We turn a business owner's numbers into decisions, so they know what to do next and aren't making the call alone.

Anthony Jones

"I translate numbers into stories and guide business owners on what to focus on next."

Why I do this

For years I watched owners get accurate numbers every month and still not know what to do next. Can we afford the hire? Do our client fees cover the work? What can we commit to? The gap between good information and a confident decision is where I work now.

What I'm there for

Hustling in the right direction

Make sure the long hours are moving the business where you want it to go.

Cash, unstuck

Find where cash is getting stuck, and decide what to do about it.

Mistakes avoided

Spot the costly ones before you make them, not after.

In your corner

Your sounding board on the big calls, and the one who keeps you accountable to the plan.

Why service businesses

You sell your team's time, usually on a monthly agreement or retainer, so this will feel familiar. Your client fees, software bills and team hours all have to line up. We look at what each agreement covers, what you bill separately and whether the fee covers the work. Managed IT companies, agencies and consultancies all run into the same squeeze.

How I work

Before I recommend anything, I play back what you told me until you say, "That's right."
Our first call starts with how you got here and what you want personally, before we look at a single number.
You hear back from me within one business day.
When the news is bad, you hear it from me early.
When something unusual comes up, I work it through with a bench of other CFOs, with no names or details that identify you.
